Production Operative – Plasma
Purpose of the Role:
To plasma spray surface prepped parts in accordance with paperwork. To take ownership of the paint process ensuring high quality output with a focus on right first-time production.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure parts are grit blasted correctly and masking is complete prior to processing
- To operate the ABB robot for automated spray
- To load and unload robot spray booths
- To operate the vibratory rumbler
- To process components in accordance with paperwork and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- To operate plasma equipment safely and correctly
- To assist the Team leader with gas bottle changes
- To visually inspect parts
- To ensure correct powders are used for plasma spraying
- To ensure gasses are turned off at shift end
- To keep a dean and organised work area
- To monitor machine usage and inform maintenance of any issues
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
- Keen eye for detail
- Good time management and organisational skills
- The ability to work both alone and in a team
- Experience with manual production processing
- Working with SOPs
- Previous experience in a production environment
- Understanding of safe working practices
- Previous experience with plasma or paint spray preferred
- Experience with ABB robot operation preferred
- Understanding of parameter-controlled processes preferred
