Zircotec proudly introduces its latest ThermoHold® for Composites innovation: a next-generation plasma-applied ceramic coating that has been engineered to be an unprecedented 69% lighter than its previous iteration.
Engineered for performance
The latest ThermoHold® for Composites product formulation features our proprietary Zirconia-based blend of ceramics, expertly developed to create an ultra-high performance thermal barrier for use in motorsport.
Designed specifically for use on lightweight carbon composites, it provides exceptional protection against extreme heat and wear, empowering motorsport teams and manufacturers to push material boundaries in environments where uncoated substrates will get damaged and fail.

Technical specification
Ultra-lightweight: Just 0.042g per cm² (420g per m²)
Extreme heat resistance: Withstands temperatures up to 1400°C
Less thick: Under 200μm
High reflectivity: ~80% to ensure superior thermal efficiency
Revolutionising motorsport applications
Ideal for composite brake duct componentry, heat shields, suspension and bodywork, ThermoHold® for Composites enables our motorsport customers to embrace cutting-edge, lightweighting strategies while maintaining the durability and thermal protection that’s key to a race-winning performance.

“In motorsport, every gram of weight counts. Reducing our ceramic coating for composites weight by 69%, while preserving its exceptional properties, is a major step forward.”
Dominic Graham, Zircotec Engineering Director
“This breakthrough gives motorsport teams and manufacturers a competitive edge in the race to lightweighting, unlocking new material performance possibilities.”
